Once more we split both infragenerics, the purple florwering Lilium oxypetalum var. insigne and the giant yellow flowering Lilium oxypetalum var. oxypetalum (which can be held as the typus-form) in order to keep them plainly apart.

Its native range is Kashmir to W. Nepal
