Description
Lilium lancifolium Thunberg 1794
Origin:
China North-Central, China South-Central, China Southeast, Japan, Korea, Kuril Islands, Manchuria, Primorye, Qinghai, Sakhalin, Tibet; grassy areas on loamy soil
Laboratory comment:
At first glance, it would not be necessary to propagate this species in vitro. But with the variation Lilium lancifolium var. flaviflorum and even more Lilium lancifolium flaviflorum f. immaculatum there are varieties that are not only very distinctive, but also very rare. In addition, this species is very susceptible to plant virus and the in-vitro propagation from seeds enables virus-free batches to be kept and preserved.
